Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
Our promise
We understand you are trusting us with sensitive information during a very hard time. We treat that responsibility seriously and collect only what we need to help you coordinate aftercare.
Information we collect
- Account details: name, email, role, and (for funeral home staff) organization.
- Case information: the deceased's name, date of passing, legal next of kin, planning details, tasks, messages, and any files you upload.
- Usage data: basic logs used to keep the service secure and diagnose problems.
How we use it
- To provide the aftercare coordination features you sign up for.
- To share case data with people you invite to your case.
- To communicate service updates and account notifications.
- To protect the platform against abuse and unauthorized access.
Who can see your data
Case data is scoped to the people invited to that case and the affiliated funeral home. Row-level security enforces this at the database layer. We do not sell your personal information.
Where data is stored
Data is stored with our infrastructure providers (Supabase and Cloudflare). Documents you upload live in a private storage bucket reachable only by authorized case members.
Your rights
- Access & update: update your profile any time from Settings.
- Deletion: delete your account from Settings. Case records shared with other members and the funeral home are retained, but your personal profile is removed.
- Contact us: for any other request, email privacy@atpeace.example.
Retention
We keep case information for as long as the case is active plus a reasonable window afterwards to meet legal and operational requirements. Backups are retained on a short rolling schedule.
Changes
When this policy changes materially, we'll notify you before the changes take effect.
